What do we learn when we play games and how can we use games for learning?

This course looks at the potential for video games to be used for teaching and learning. We will consider games as interactive, immsersive learning environments. Thinking about game design, we will develop skills to both analyze games and develop novel games for learning. We will study relevant research looking at games in school environments, and we will develop our own teaching materials using off the shelf games, or games that we design ourselves.
