posted message: The World Economics Forum just issued its Manifesto, which is worth a look. http://www.worldeconomicsassociation.org/WEA/Manifesto.html
It contains the key ingredients: a mission statement; specific objectives; and profession of / commitment to underlying values.
I see this as a "covenant"--a public, voluntary promise or pledge, aimed at a desired future state, that periodically is renewed.
Is there a space where the full statement can be posted and viewed?
Hope you all are having a good week, thus far!
Warmly,
Marcy.
posted message: Quick update: Monica posted the bi-weekly #6 with lot's of awesome stuff. I've been out of commission for a while because of travel and an eye infection, but am now back busy catching up, from a small Chinese village (http://goo.gl/maps/eCG8). Also, due to a software update, all followers should be receiving this update by email as well. Looking forward to the discussions this week!
posted message: I thought followers also received e-mail replies, but unfortunately that is not the case. I think that will be changed in the new version, which is coming out on Monday. In the meantime, you can also subscribe to the activity stream through this RSS feed (add to Google reader, etc): http://bit.ly/cscl-feed
posted message: Hi all, sorry for my absence, have been traveling, and had some problems with my eyes. Look forward to catching up. Will be missing tomorrow's BBB as well, unfortunately - will be in the air at the time. Tomorrow (Saturday) Monica will host BBB meeting at the same time as last time (5PM). Feel free to suggest another time or a new whenisgood for next week.

posted message: Hello all -
Following on the heels of Joe and Jennifer, I've also blogged about CoPs and have included an editable debate graph embedded in my post. It would be great to see participants add their own ideas concerning the question, "Is our P2PU course, Intro to CSCL, a community of practice?"

posted message: Big Blue Button meetups this week: Friday at 9AM EST, and Saturday at 5PM EST. We hope you can make one of these meetups (we will only have one weekly meeting going forward, but we wanted to make sure we could connect with everyone during the first week). Link: http://bit.ly/cscl-bbb. The meetings will be recorded. Network member are also welcome to attend.

posted message: I just realized that I hadn't removed the dates listed on the w1/w2 task. We decided to go with Whenisgood instead, so we are waiting until tonight to see if more people add their availability, then we'll announce the meeting dates. Sorry for the confusion (we're just getting started :))
posted message: Hi guys, I believe the activity stream from all of our blogs are totally overwhelming this page - I filed a bug asking for a separate activity stream page, and a separate wall, but until then I added all of our blogs, and a Twitter search, to a Netvibes page: http://www.netvibes.com/csclintro
Also, if you have not yet added to the Whenisgood (whenisgood.net/cscl-introwk1), please do it by tonight (EST). You can do this if you are a follower too, as long as you intend to participate in the meeting.
posted message: Hi, everybody! I'm so excited about this class. I'm giving a live webinar on Wednesday, and I may not really get started here until it's finished. But after that, I can't wait to dive in. Love the blogs I've looked at so far, and I can't wait to get started. It'll be great to learn from you!
posted message: Hi, everybody!

My quick response to Monica's questions on the Week1 readings: http://ottonomy.net/blog/2011/04/25/cscl-intro-wk-1-questions/
Feel free to respond at my blog if you want (or at your own with a trackback, right?) ;-)
