This challenge supports the use of materials found in the Character Unit of the OpenFiction Project, a free and open introductory fiction writing course
The goals of this challenge are to:
• develop a critical vocabulary for discussling character in fictional narrative
• practice identifying and describing elements of character in fictional narrative, and
• learn drafting and revision techniques for improving the character development of your own work.
Read the first three pages of the Character unit, then read Exercise 22 in What If?, "What do your characters want?" and post it in the discussion forum of this task, or check Optional Task 2 of this challenge to see if anyone has submitted a substitute exercise that doesn't require the book.
