Week 3 - If You Are Getting Into World of Warcraft Early

We're going to be on the US server.

We are going on the "Sisters of Elune" realm - RP ( Role Playing).

We will be making an a Horde character and an Alliance character.

On Monday, April 2 - We will also be making a Horde character. So we will be in the troll/orc starting area. So if this is your first time please make a troll or orc.

On Wednesday, April 4 - We will be making an alliance character. So we will be at the dwarf starting area. So it this is your first time please make a dwarf.

If you make characters before Monday, please send Kae or Abacus a direct message in P2P – then we will friend you in World of Warcraft.

To take a simple screenshot in WoW - hit the alt and the z keys at the same time. To bring back your interface, hit the alt and the z keys again.

    OK, so I have Ventrilo installed... aside from setting up a server profile in the Connection Editor, are we going to have to fiddle with any of the other settings, e.g like in Setup?

    Not for now. Sometimes you do have to fiddle with individuals volume levels but we'll go over that if you have problems hearing anyone. Cool thing about "vent" like most technology if you have a problem it's easy to google to find an answer.

    Can't get into your sim...been trying for about 20 minutes. :( Very bad lag (I have a high power computer with correct settings. )

    Will try to catch you in WoW if I can't get into SL.

    The system wouldn't let me transfer any of my characters from Vashj to Sisters of Elune so I just started over with a gnome (Aevallekin) and an orc (Aevallorc)--have both levelled up as far as 6 at this point.  (Yah, I'm not really creative with the naming. *grins*)

    Correct. WoW does not allow realm transfers without a fee. It also limits you to 10 characters per realm.

    Two annoying things about this P2PU access. One the "Post button" (Below, in the edit comment window when making a comment or reply)  button and the other next to it on the right are white out (for me) I guessed which one was for posting.. The other issue to resolve is when I post, the screen doesn't confirm and return for me.. it goes to a "404 like" page and I have to recycle the page and get back to the comments section to see the thread.. Just saying quirky..

    you should Direct Message Kae and/or Abacus on P2P.  BTW I registered (I am Gridjumper), went in and got killed by a spotted boar.  Now I am wandering about as a friendless ghost.  Hoping for some assistance in coming back to life.

    There is an an automatic 6 minute release if you just leave it alone and don't log out.

    When you die you will end up in a graveyard, the screen will be blue/gray.

    You will be in front of the "Spirit Healer" who looks like an angel.

    You can click on her. She will give you two options.

    1) Find your corpse

    • hit cancel
    • look in map in the upper top right hand corner
    • the red arrow points to your corpse
    • use the arrow keys to have your avatar facing in the correct direction
    • then using the map, run your avatar to your corpse
    • when you get close to your corpse, the red arrow on the map will turn into a coffin
    • keep going toward then coffin
    • when you are close enough, a text box will appear asking "Resurrect Now?"
    • make sure you do no "Rez" write on top of the monster that killed you

    2) Accept

    • you will be resurrected at the graveyard
    • your equipment will all take 25% damage
    • you will have resurrection sickness which reduce all your attributes by 75%
    • the resurrection sickness will last for 10 minutes
    • you will need to go to a repair person and pay to have all of your equipment repaired

    If you ever get lost while dead. There is always the option at the top middle of the screen to "return to the graveyard."

    Hey Grid. Sorry I couldn't lend an assist; was off on an excursion in RL  :)  Caught a matinee of The Hunger Games and it was a great flick!

    I'll send a DM to Kae & Abacus as you suggest. Hope you were able to level up after your respawn  :)
