I learned that DNS is important because without unique web site addresses, the Internet would be a big mess and could not function  very well. I see DNS as a type of phone book or address book for the Internet.

Without  a DNS, (domain name system) you would only be able to get to sites by typing in their IP addresses instead of simply its website name. DNS makes it more convenient and easy to remember web addresses.

I will remember that behind everyweb  site is an IP address which goes through many different servers and processes. DNS  makes web surfing so much easier.

I also learned that there are many complicated processes to DNS and the whole process occurs very rapidly.(milliseconds) I also learned through youtube videos, and  dns articles which explained the many  complicated steps involved in retrieving a website from your browser.
