Getting ready to write a novel in November!

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is in November. It is a fun, fast-paced race to write a novel in 30 days. Participants begin writing on November 1. The goal is to write 50,000 words of a novel by the end of November 30.

This group will have fun with some prep activities to get ready for NaNoWriMo during October.

And once November comes, there's another writing group for the main event here.

Writing tools

F1 - How are you going to write? Long-hand? On a typewriter? On a computer? Online or offline? With what software? As tempting as it is, don’t spend too much time thinking about this. Pick something and go with it.

F2 - Download or set up your writing tool so it is ready for you to go.

F3 - Set up a back up system for your writing and use it every day

F4- Take a tutorial on your writing tool/software so you will be versed in how to use all of its features.

yWriter for me. Couldn't live without it.

I have Scrivener too. I love that you can keep starting a new chapter, yet you can have easy access to all the previous chapters. I haven't heard of yWriter before, Karen.

yWriter is free, and for PCs. Scrivener is for Mac or PC. Both help organize your novel!
