This course will become read-only in the near future. Tell us at community.p2pu.org if that is a problem.

Full Description

This study group will explore the Git version control toolkit. We will review current learning resources such as the Git Community Book. Tasks will provide a concise explanation of common functions and encourage participants to apply their knowledge in a community context. To that extent, we will create a shared Git repository on a network such as Github or Gitorious.

Participants will need to be familiar with basic computer concepts such as copy/paste, web browsing, ect. Participants should also be comfortable with the terminal, or command line, as many Git functions are envoked through that medium.

Participants will be graded by their participation in class discussions, how much they offer assistance to co-learners, and how much they interact with the shared repository. Extra credit will be afforded to members who help to improve our Peer to Peer University learning resources, so that the class can be more self-contained and comprehensive.
