    • It was in the first place a military reaction of the US to the Sputnik shock. They funded an organisation to built up an "undestroyable" network for communication.

    • Webstandards are features that are implemented in a standardized, recommondated way in a browser. They are important for developers to built on a defined set of rules and for customers/users to see content in the intended way across different browsers.
