I would have loved to share the results of task #1 here ... but the plattform as it stands is a little pita -- so task #2 is: how do we get ourselves organized so we can share stuff among us and make it eventually available to others.

We need an email contact list of all participants
We need access to a wiki format a Google site or even a linkedIn Group might do on which we can meet as peers.
We need a platform for webinars in which speakers can make presentations around which we can have discussions that can be recored and held as a resource
We need an agenda of topics to cover
We need someone to outline the content in each topic
We need a list of on-line resources and some suggested reading for a start.
and we most dearly need more than just 1 person chiming in; thanks Ralph for your contribution!

You might have to take the initiative here. In my experience, on-line social media peer to peer projects usually require a leader/facilitator prepared to take the initiative to commence. This can involve setting tasks, providing content around participants interest in which they can engage etc. Participants in my experience usually want the infrastructure fully in place to commence. Otherwise it is a time consuming operation to build and that is not usually a reason to engage.
The title Protoyping the Innovation Ecology would suggest to me we should start by trying to define what an Innovation Ecology is.
