I work as a learning designer within the Media and Online Learning Unit at the Victoria Police Academy. Basically, my role is to to assist our clients (other police members) to design, develop and create (generally) stand-alone online learning courses. Our unit is very creative and we do a lot of media production (film, images, audio) and so there is often a blend of training videos and online learning courses. More and more, our clients are finding "elements" via the internet, or bringing with them texts, videos, images, audio that they have found or been using in their face-to-face training. Our problem is working out how and what is covered under 'copyright."
In my previous work life, I have had many roles: National Manager for content development for the National VET E-Learning System, manager with Adult literacy and ESL departments within TAFE, teacher of adult literacy and ESL, primary school teacher.
Looking forward to working out what's what in today's world of copyright.
