Tia Simmons is an Instructional Technology Coordinator for Prince George's County Public Schools. Her desire is to work with teachers and other educators to create strategies and action plans for integrating technology into their curriculum, instruction, assessment and classroom management. Tia has 10+ years of technology experience and has had the privilege of assisting her district's Title I department with their first 1:1 iPad initiative in four middle schools. She is also a DEN STAR for Discovery Education and SMART certified. She has also had the opportunity to present at conferences for companies such as Discovery Education, Maryland Society for Educational Technology (MSET), SMART, Maryland State Education Association, Simple K12 and facilitate online courses. Tia is very passionate about PD, wild about Web 2.0, excited about Emerging Technologies and loves being a Life Long Learner. She doesn't profess to know all the answers but is willing to facilitate dialogues to find the resources. When she is not presenting or working with teachers, she enjoys watching movies and spending time with her husband, three-year-old son and two miniature schnauzers. Her passions, outside of the office, are photography and digital scrapbooking.
