Issue badges with one of the existing obi partners and learners will also learn how to develop a manual for earners.

Your goals include: 1) briefly cover how the badge process works, 2) take a look at what it means to be a ‘badge Earner’, 3) learn how to easily issue badges using an existing ‘OBI partner’, and 4) create your own manual for your learners to earn the badges. You will finish with two final products upon your successful completion: a badge to issue in your selected location and a manual to give to your learners.

    Outstanding!

We are in the process of defining the topics within this course (and others). I need to ping Leah cause we started to work though a school of open badges curriculum. We kind of see nine challenges in total...

What we are thinking is somewhat described in this post; http://criticaltechnology.blogspot.ca/2012/08/school-of-open-badges.html

Really like to have you involved as a contributor... let me know if you have any insights into how the challenges should be organized.

Excellent Peter.  I may be able to help with two of the nine pedals (assuming I understand them correctly).  These would be "Working with Application Frameworks" and "Building your own OBI Integration".

Please take a look at the project I submitted for Leah's Open Badges 101 challenge.  It's a Play Framework application that uses the OBI REST services to display my current list of badges.  Also, please hit the review button so I can qualify for the badge.

I started the "How do I make a P2PU Course" challenge.  I want to detail what I did for Leah's challenge as part of a Play Framework course.  This will have to involve encourage people to develop other web skills offered by P2PU.

I presume that it is unlikely that any one learner would want to pursue all nine pedals.

Hey Peter, it's sounds like Todd's expertise would be more suited in helping with some of your petals. Glad you chimed in!

Hi Leah.  One of my skills is the ability to make two omlets at the same time in different pans.

More relevant to this discussion, I've been doing web development since Java 1.1 was new.  I'm a big fan of JSON and REST over XML, YAML, ICE, CORBA, and other distribution mechanisms I've had to deal with in the past.  The OBI did that right, though I'm not sure the current format is mature.  The nice thing about JSON is the flexibility and ease of handling multiple versions over time without breaking older systems.
