This course will explore documentary journalism using the book Video For Change, written by members of witness.org. The course may emphasize Free/Open Source video tools, formats, and codecs. We will also focus on institutional repositories such as the Internet Archive and Creative Commons for distribution.
The full class schedule will depend on the production teams. Teams can progress through the steps at their own pace. I would like to keep this course open ended and collaboratively developed so I am open to suggestions, modifications, and improvements.
It's hard to coordinate with others without some time committed to collaboration and communication. If there was a way to explain this idea you've posted here on the actual course page, that would be an awesome start. Also, maybe there's a way to keep a rolling, iterative schedule, with or without deadlines, that can let folks know (we're approaching the Fall production schedule, or the September benchmark, or the December deadline, etc).
