The idea of getting to know better this peticular area is cunning. The course itself is interesting when present. It lacks some more content though; hence the mark isn't a 3. I sincerely hope that this course will continue expanding and that eventually it will earn a badge to the course creator.

I think this course has a lot of potential. I'm looking for a common thread to follow and the second task seems a bit out of place if you are simply listing tourist sites. The power I see is in your third task - the WHY.
I'm curious to know if you used this with a class already.

I think this peer focused well on the points she wanted the challengers to work with and made them as easier as possible to understand.

I really think the creative activities could hook people at the beginning instead of near the end. Learning from wikipedia as the first task could be so open ended that you don't have follow through at the end. What if you gave the task of being a "central Asia" ambassador or asked for feedback from the participants of why this course for them--have them start by sharing something interesting. Then, as you start to allow them to choose the specific areas they would like to become expert in, this could require a linking activity--how does the crisis in an ecology affect some other aspect. This again would have them focusing on their own topics of interest, but taking the time to read and respond to others if you ask them to find connections.
I really like the potential and the research that is evident behind it. If you want it as open ended as you have it now, then your other option could be to have them come up with the tasks they are going to do to accomplish your titled goals of each section. This could be part of the challenge.
