I learned enough about how the Domain Name System works to produce the diagram on the blog post I've linked to. I found it interesting to learn how the URLs we type into the address bar or click on are resolved into the IP addresses used by computers to find each other. Additionally, it has become clear just how big a task it is to move the whole internet from using IPv4 to IPv6.
