I have learned how to maintain a domain name across two web hosting companies. One, DreamHost, is my domain registrar. The other, WebFaction, is my primary host.
I also wrote an article/blog post describing some questions and concepts relating to web hosting. It has taken me a while to realize some of the nuances of determining a good web host, so I would like to help people jump right in and begin with a great host.

Great and detailed information. However, certain questions which posted are too indepth for non-technical users who are new to the web. So they might get even MORE confused on choosing the right web hosting.
Most of them prefer word of mouth, and on the side note, your post also includes personal recommendation which is very good.

Hello Brylie,
Great thorough post on how to set up your domain host and I am sure it will be useful to others taking the challenge and trying to set up their DNS to point to their Hosting Account. So kudos to you! A suggestion I would give you is to take screenshots to connect to each of the steps you have described in your post.
cheers,
Chloe
