I created this blog a year ago as my entry into the Blackboard VIP Blogger contest for their 2012 User Group Conference. I was selected as one of three bloggers. This allowed me to enter into the world of blogging, while learning about blogging and other forms of communication through social media. I have learned the importance of proof reading and the importance of a good title.

Blogging is just to voicing your thoughts and feelings as in a diary, but it is an important form of communication to the world. You can learn and share with others that you might not have the ability to communicate with otherwise. Blogging allows you to expand the knowledge base on a topic and can serve as way to getting published. To be successful you must post regularly, tweet about your post, have the correct keywords tied to your blog, promote your blog on other sites, setup an RSS feed for your blog, and respond to commets left by readers.

I believe this blog deserves this badge because it shows how a novice blogger can learn to become a respected blogger. While I have students Blog within my college LMS, I had never actually done it until last year. Students were able to provide me feedback and even guest blog about Educause on my blog. I am continuing to use this blog in my class and professional life.
