Geany is a text editor using the GTK2 toolkit with basic features of an integrated development environment. It was developed to provide a small and fast IDE. It is designed to have short load times, with limited dependency on separate packages or external libraries. It is available for a wide range of operating systems, such as BSD, Linux, Mac OS X, Solaris and Windows. Among the supported programming languages and markup languages are C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, PHP, HTML, LaTeX, CSS, Python, Perl, Ruby, Pascal, Haskell, Erlang, Vala and many others.
