Overview:
The link above is an area within an my ePortoflio website that showcases my Academic Achievements.
The page looks very simplistic, which was the goal I was striving for - given that I am designing this for easy download / viewing on mobile devices. Too much information on one page is not ideal, for a variety of reasons.
Therefore -
-
the Academic Achievements page merely contains an overview of my higher educational achievements.
-
Clicking on the 'About This Program' buttons for each university show a more detailed overview within a lightbox.
-
By clicking on the 'Courses and Artifacts' button (in my Instructional Technology overview) re-directs to another page that contains courses and overviews - organized in a blog type format, but easy to read and distinguish from anything else.
-
These in turn contain quick details for each course, and when appropriate, in-depth Artifacts (which contain text, reflections, and links to media - video, images, etc.).
This portion of my ePortfolio will allow me to add additional insights at a later time (reflections, additional resources, etc.), thus allowing my ePortfolio to take on the characteristics of a living document.
Challenges:
There were multiple challenges assocaited with this - categorical organization, a reflective process (one of the purposes behind an ePortoflio after all), and HTML/CSS/javascript codeing considerations, given that this is reformatted for diffferent viewing devices (full screen vs. tablet vs. smartphone)
