How many times have you tried to check a quick fact online and then lost an hour following links and checking unhelpful websites? The proliferation of paid search results and content mills makes it difficult to find what you want. Like traditional museum and gallery curators, digital curators acquire useful works and artifacts that fit into their collections. Influential tech evangelist Robert Scoble has said that content curation will be an essential 21st century digital skill.

I really enjoyed this course. I have a much better plan now for curating the vast amounts of information that I come across in my digital journeys.

Very useful course. I've always been interested in tools to capture and gather information about different topics and I've learnt that this is called curation. I really liked most of the lessons since they gave me some insights about what I was doing and how to properly addressed the process of curation. I also liked reviewing all the tools that are already available and I've seen that everyday seems to bring new tools (so this is a really hot topic).
Right now I've already started the process of curating information about the Tragedy of the Commons. I've decided to stop using Instapaper and I'm just using delicious to obtain new sources and Pearltrees to do the actual curation (I've replaced Instapaper with a Pearl that collects ToRead material).

Hello everyone,
I started using Scoop.it last year, but honestly I did not have a clue about curation, because I thought curators were museum specialists and curation was for food. I kept aggregating content on my topics because this was a way to keep data organized, find relevant items, and meet other users with the same interests. Then we had a daring idea of submitting a proposal for a workshop on “Curation” at the PLE (Personal Learning Environments) Conference 2012, which was accepted.
I found Robin Good, Beth Kanter, Judy O’Connell, and others and slowly realized that the best way to benefit from curation for learning would be to start doing it in a focused way.
I joined this community at P2PU which kept me motivated to go on curating. Right now I feel I found the right topic for my dissertation: curation for personal knowledge management.

This is my blog of curated content on figurative art.
I have enjoyed this course as it's got me looking back at the accounts on many curation services that I set up as trials.
I tried Scoop.it, but didn't get the hang of it early on, but will give it another shot.
My main news gathering & sharing tool is still Twitter. It keeps me informed based on those of similar interests I like to follow. I don't necessarily curate what I find there, but I do ReTweet for others interested and this gives them a chance to curate.
I find that I have allowed my Delicious account to automate based on using ifttt -it's now a link graveyard.
Curation is something you have to work at, like most things, so I will be doing that while trying tolink some of the services I do use together where possible.
I think my next move should be to try to pull some of those services into my blog.
