More than anything, I’m the “awesome idea generation” and “big picture” guy.
I am very much a kinesthetic learner and thinker. As a result I am heavily involved with visual communications on a practical, theoretical and academic level.
I am far more hack thank hacker, as I am currently working as a writer and photojournalist in Toronto while finishing my Master of Fine Art in Documentary Media at Ryerson University.
I never set out planning on having anything to do with journalism and news media, but it is a topic which I have realized I feel very strongly about. For my honours undergraduate degree in media studies, I ended up writing a thesis paper discussing the inadequacy of contemporary news media in terms of the ability of the audience to investigate the sources of news stories and verify the credibility and accuracy thereof. Now, once again almost by surprise, I am working on a web platform for news that will address and remedy these concerns.
I am so thankful that this MoJo project exists. The world deserves better news.
