What are the 21CCLC Programs?
The programs that you will be working with are classified as 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21CCLC). To start, we would like to give you some background information on what 21CCLC programs are, and what they do for the kids in our area.
Characteristics of 21 CCLC programs
- Help students who are behind grade level in math and reading
- Help schools that are falling behind in academics in general
- Based on the No Child Left Behind Act
- Grant-funded
- Extend the school day so students can learn in fun, motivating and enriching ways, and give them more supervised time when they may otherwise not be supervised
