2. Medical Problems
This next lesson will discuss medical problems, which can range from minor to life threatening medical emergencies. You will learn your role as the responder and what steps to take. We will teach you about breathing problems, including the sounds and steps to follow. We discuss food allergies, including their symptoms and triggers, and we will also discuss how to properly use an EpiPen. We will talk about heart attacks and their symptoms, steps and tips. Medical problems include fainting, which has a variety of causes and steps for care. You will learn about low blood sugar in diabetic persons, which includes symptoms and care. Strokes are another set of medical problems, which will be discussed in this lesson as well. Seizures are caused by numerous factors, therefore have a specific set of steps for the responder. Shock is the last medical problem you will learn about, which like the other problems, includes a variety of signs, symptoms, and systems of care.
