5. CPR and AED for Adults

In this lesson, we will be reviewing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults. Adult CPR is comprised of chest compressions, airway and breathing. You will learn high quality CPR for adults which includes: proper compressions, giving breaths, and mask use. We will talk about AED use in adults and the steps to take. You will also learn to assess when to call 911 and get help. After, you will learn to put this information together in a systematic manner to ensure increased patient survival. The last lesson covers choking, which includes a chart (found in manual) and the steps for performing the Heimlich Maneuver.
