19. ACLS Cases - Pulseless Electrical Activity and Asystole

In this lesson we will discuss Pulseless Electrical Activity (PEA) and Asystole. PEA and asystole are related life-threatening cardiac rhythms and not shockable. We will talk about the rules of asystole, which can be found in your manual for further study. Also in your manual is the reversible causes, which include the Hs and Ts. There are guideline changes regarding atropine, which will be discussed along with the algorithm. We will also review CPR quality, shock energy, return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC), and drug therapy.
