Margaret poured so much love into her son, that eventually he grew and grew into love itself
Let's look at an example. Take the above description of Margaret's love for her son. What is this description really saying? There are 2 ideas expressed: 1) Margaret loved her son, and 2) Eventually he became love too. These 2 ideas tell us information, but not in a very entertaining way. They need spicing up.
Look at the words in the first sentence that enhance what is being said - 'SO MUCH LOVE',and 'POURED INTO'. Both of these extra descriptions paint pictures in our minds - i can now imagine how much love is being talked about, but also that Margaret is pouring the love into her son. Pouring suggests flow, but also quantity too.
The words in the second sentence that enhance what is being said include - 'HE GREW AND GREW' and, 'LOVE ITSELF'. Both of these extra descriptions paint pictures in our minds - i can now imagine the son growing with the love, and by saying he became love itself makes me think of what love actually is. I can imagine a person or thing full up with love, or totally bursting with it. The image of the tree above really captures the feeling for me. As I thought about the son's growth, i imagined a tree.
