Media messages are created by people and organizations and contain natural, accidental, and intentional biases. Media deconstruction techniques are useful to identify bias, motivations, limitations, techniques, and sources involved in the creation, distribution, and consumption of media messages. Familiarity with media deconstruction techniques can help us identify shortcomings in our own media production and make informed assessments of the media and issues in our lives.
