You can’t do programming without understanding math. That’s not my rule, that’s just the way the universe works. If you don’t know algebra and logic, then stop and go take one of the millions of courses on the internet for this stuff. 

Okay, easy stuff:

See how easy python is? Man that’s cool.  I can use python as a calculator.  Try it. If you leave the “print” part out, python still does the math, you just don’t see it.

Seriously though, if you don’t know why the answers were different in each of those lines, go do an algebra course online. I’ll wait till you get back…
