Cells [July 13, 2013, 9:57 a.m.]

TASK 1

In this activity you are going to compare animal and plant cells and gain an understanding of the functions of their respective organelles.

To do this you will investigate an interactive model of the cells found here.

Investigate the organelles of both types of cells.  Are there any parts that you have not encountered before?

Make a list on your blog of what these parts are, and research exactly what they do.  Make sure you reference your sources of information on your blog.

Be helpful to your peers - if you find a really good source of information tweet it to them or post it in the comments section.

TASK 2

Come up with a factoid for 3 organelles detailing which kind of cell they are found in and what they do.  Tweet all three using the hashtag #bridginscience.

TASK 3

Plant cells contain many more organelles than animal cells.  Thinking about the activities of animals and plants, chemical reactions that go on inside of them and researching where necessary, discuss in your blog the purpose of these differences and post a link to the discussion in the comments section.

TASK 4
