Create Your First Mind map [Feb. 1, 2013, 2:11 a.m.]
Now down to business, so grab a sheet of paper( A4 size paper will be good enough) and pick any topic you want like(preferably try picking a topic on which you have very little knowledge)
Here are some of the guidelines to make a mind map.
- Start in the center with the topic, if possible trye drawing a small picture or icon.( You don't have to do a davinci drawing)
- Use images, symbols, codes, and dimensions throughout your mind map. Select key words and print using upper or lower case letters.
- From the main topic draw branches and label them with anything that comes to your mindf that you feel is related to the central theme, keep doing this and keep on adding sub branches and so on.
- Make the lines the same length as the word/image they support.
- Use multiple colors throughout the mind map, for visual stimulation and also to encode or group.
- Develop your own personal style of mind mapping.
- Keep the mind map clear by using radial hierarchy, numerical order or outlines to embrace your branches
And set a time limit for yourself and after that just look at your mind map. You will be surprised to know the amount of Information you had on the topic you selected. If properly done you may even have all the points necessary to write an article.
