This course will become read-only in the near future. Tell us at community.p2pu.org if that is a problem.
Welcome to Technovation Challenge 2013!
We are excited that you are participating in our 12-week course, which will prepare your team to submit an original app along with video pitch and business plan. Whether you are new to programming completely or a returning Technovation alum, we are excited to embark on this journey with you.
The 12-week course starts the week of January 21. We suggest you plan for about four hours per lesson, but you are welcome to complete the course with your teams at your own pace. All deliverables are due on April 13th, 5 pm PST.
In this section, we posted all the printable course materials for the Spring course. Each week's PowerPoint presentation will be posted on the task of its corresponding week. If your team did not complete Hack Day (App Inventor training) yet, you can access the tutorial instructions, questions, and PPT slides from Hack Day here.

Nightingale,
We'd love to have your help with that! Thank you so much for offering. Can you email me at annalise@iridescentlearning.org and we can talk further?
Thanks again,
AnnaLise
Although we are not up to our pitch, we (the teachers) would like to know an outline of the pitch and maybe some suggested types of footage
Thanks,

Hi Sara,
Thanks for the question!
There is no specified outline for the 4-minute video pitch. What is most important is content and the message the girls get out regarding their app. The order of the pitch depends on how the team would like to present their information. Some teams are choosing to pitch their apps live in front of an audience and record video while others may choose to shoot and edit.
Below are some examples from winning teams over the years:

I see that you already have someone working on translating these materials into French, but if you needed additional help I would be happy to offer my services. I have a BA in French and studied the language for a total of 9 years.
Thank you, Emma! I really appreciate your willingness to help, and I'd love to talk with you more about this. I'll contact you offline to discuss further :)
