Week 7: Career Explorations [Jan. 14, 2013, 2:58 p.m.]
This lesson is an opportunity for students to be truly inspired and encouraged to consider a career in technology, as they will now have a chance to see what their mentor does in her career. Students should write down questions as mentors are talking. Students can also follow up with their mentor afterwards too. We hope that this activity will instill a personal connection with students and mentors and foster students' interest in a career in technical entrepreneurship.
If you only have 1 or 2 mentors at your site, students should use this time to peruse our "What is it like to work at..." video series, where we interview women at cool tech companies like Facebook, Twitter, and Airbnb.
