This course will become read-only in the near future. Tell us at community.p2pu.org if that is a problem.

Although I’ve been working with Notepad++ and HTML-Kit for years, this was still a useful exercise. It introduced me to a couple of editors I’d never used before and got me thinking about what I’m looking for in an editor.

I don't know enough about text editors to properly choose one at this point. So, I just choose one randomly to fulfill this arbitrary assignment in order to move on, hopefully actually learn something. After I have some context on web design I will go back and make an informed decision on which editor to use.

I chose Notepad++ because the environment was very comfortable to use for quick edits. :-) It also provided the user with the ability to customize it to suit their needs.
OK, you've played with it a lot more than I have if you've found ways to customize it! I just wrote my lovely little "Hello world" page! Not much creativity there! Anyway, now I have a challenge: Find ways to customize Notepad++! Thanks!
In my blog post on choosing a text editor - http://www.venturemistakes.com/choosing-a-text-editor/ - I went with Brackets.io, its seems very easy to use and it allows you to see your html edits immediately
I've dowloaded this editor twice. I cannot open it, because it says it was developed by another developer? weird. thoughts?
I'd loev to check it out!
