Hafa Adai! (Hello)
My name is Christian Guevara. I am an 18 year-old student attending Pierce College in Puyallup, Washington. I am originally from the island of Guam located in the Western Pacific Ocean, at approximately 13 degrees north latitude and 144 degrees east longitude.
For those who may already know, Guam's education has always been relatively deprived in juxtaposition with the education in the continental U.S. My struggle to overcome such an educational disadvantage has shaped me into a humble and more ambitious individual.
I joined P2PU as a means of continuing the "upper-hand" I hold upon my social adversities and I refuse to fall into the achievement "risk-factors" of which are associated with my Pacific Islander community.
My deepest conviction is that one can never stop learning and a successful person must continue to learn and strive to become the most well-rounded person they could be. Ultimately, I hope that with the help of P2PU and other means, I will be able to become that well-rounded person and deliver the economic benefit to those who have shared my struggles.
