Neil Dawson

Neil Dawson

I graduated from the University of Dundee in 2010 with a degree in Interactive Media Design, and in the last year I created an atypical web interface for a start-up networking service, completed freelance web design work and recently accepted a UX Design role at Cyber-Duck, a digital design agency near London.

I am adept in interaction design, HTML, CSS and Adobe Creative Suite, and have experience with technologies such as Arduino, jQuery, video capture and editing and photography. I am an excellent verbal and written communicator with a background in computing and design, an abundance of transferable design skills and an eye for detail. Having grown up around computers I am very familiar with popular social media websites and online communication tools, particularly Twitter, Facebook, discussion forums and blogs. (You may have seen our video 'Anatomy of a Comment Thread' which did the rounds during our MoJo event in Dundee, and was also shown in London: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kmbbc7NV8lQ)

During my time at university I often worked in interdisciplinary teams with peers from courses as diverse as textiles and jewellery, so I’m well equipped to work with new people from very different backgrounds. I’m also passionate about net neutrality, the eventual acceptance of video gaming as a medium for art and accountability in the news media.

Above all I value thoughtfulness and simplicity.
