I teach Adult Basic Education focusing on basic math 2 days/week. This fall we are part of the NROC Developmental Math pilot. We also use the IXL online math site for student practice and I've been using that extensively since last year. At various times over the last decade, I've also tried other online math programs, but did not find many that were both affordable and effective for my particular student base, which is adults who usually have low literacy and computer literacy skills.
I've been teaching ABE for 10 years, but in my "former" life I worked in computer software development with a concentration on technical writing and online help for applications. So I'm looking forward to providing feedback to NROC on what works and what doesn't for my classes.
