Hi I live on the North Coast of NSW and love spending time at the beach, walking my little dog and enjoying the company of good friends. I work with Aged care and nursing; Facilitate Mental Health support groups in Coffs Harbour and Woolgoolga and also at the Mental Health Unit in the Base Hospital at Coffs Harbour. I love working with those who need support through recovery and management of their mental health issues (usually incorporating physical health issues and/or AOD issues). I have a Diploma in Fitness; AOD and Mental Health; Community Services and a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in Counselling and Social Welfare. I have suffered with mental health problems ever since I can remember, or since I realised that I may be unique/different. My son James also suffered with mental illness, firstly as a child he suffered from depression and was suicidal at 11 and later at 17 yrs he was assaulted and lived with Grand Mal Epilepsy, Paranoid Schizophrenia, Major Depression, PTSD, OCD and Pseudo-parkinsonism until his death from a heart attack 2 years ago at age 32. My only other child is my daughter Amy who is a psychologist in the North Coast area and an absolute angel. You can probably see why she and I went through the career path of Psychology and Counselling...seemed like a natural direction...one from the heart as well as the head. I look forward to chatting with others and learning more about the things that matter.
