Jason Grill graduated summa cum laude at Saint Louis University where he took up the bachelor's degree in business administration majoring economics and minoring political science. After college, he enrolled at University of Missouri-Columbia Law School where he received an advanced certificate in dispute resolution and a dean's lister. He also studied in Rome, Italy taking up international economics through University of Loyola-Chicago.
He was able to work with representative Trent Skaggs and other Democrat legislators of Kansas City Northland and with other Statewide officials. He passed the Missouri Board Exam last 2004 and Kansas Bar Exam in 2005, he founded the Grill Law Firm, LLC with his father. He became a member of the Kansas Bar Association, Platte and Clay County Bar Association, Missouri Bar Association and Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association
