Learn from the experiences of others.


Seek out the stories of others who have experienced your current health challenge.

I often Google a word or phrase that describes how I am feeling when something is going wrong physically. This will often generate links to people's blogs or forums where people talk about their health. While this is not the best source way to inform your course of treatment, it can be encouraging just to read that others have experienced wat you are experiencing. Sometimes it can even be encouraging to read how much worse others have had the same symptom.

Look for patterns in their stories. See how they have handled their health challenge, what worked for them as well as what didn't. If they took a course of treatment, what was the result? Were there unwanted effects of that treatment? Did they determine the root cause of their illness? Is there anything in their story that reminds you of your own current circumstance?

Try searching or browsing in Yahoo! Answers for related health stories. Go to Ask.com and type in the first question that comes to mind about your condition.

While anecdotal health reports are highly subjective and varied, they can introduce a sense of humanity to a healing approach, reminding us that there is no such thing as a perfect, cookie-cutter, one-size fits all approach to health. Our bodies are as individual as our daily lives and are affected by these lives.
