A CO-founder of AST Spaces. The Space's objective is to be a community of open learning with real involvement of Universities and publics. It provides not only hands equipment but also research instruments for free use. Three tiers of programs are provided: a) Joint-disciplinary Working Teams with self-initiated projects; b) Organized Programs for public participations for changing of thinking through applied Tinkering Concepts; c) Members Observation Programs with specified Open-Time for members to see and Interact with Teams. With the three tiers of programs, we are hoping that members of the Spaces are in touching with the current events in Science, they gain real experiences through their participations (tinkerings) to realize what are required to be creative and innovated, and learning is a self-discovery process.
As organizers, we are challenged by the traditional understanding of learning and tinkering. We are working together with our local universities to come up with breakthroughs so that continuous progresses can be made to augment formal learning taken for granted by the public and educational institutions.
We are still learning by trying many things. Our past can be found on: http://www.meetup.com/AST_Spaces/events/216925252/
