Make sure to set it to "public" under privacy settings and save the changes. Copy the link that is found under your video name and paste into the word document.

- Converting your PowerPoint into Slideshare: Go to slideshare.net. Create a free account on slideshare. Check the email you used to register, and follow instructions sent to your email to confirm the account. Log in to your account and click the upload button. Browse through your computer, and choose the presentation you want to upload. Once your file is uploaded, click on it to view, and copy the url. Paste the url into the word document.

- Converting your PowerPoint into Prezi: Go to prezi.com. Create a free account on Prezi. Select ‘PowerPoint’ from the top-center menu when in Edit mode. Click on "Select File..." and choose the PPT or PPTx file you want to import. Drag your slides from the sidebar to the canvas, or click Insert all. You can also choose to add a path between them. Paste the url into the word document.

Student feedback is crucial to improving our programs and obtaining funding, so please ensure that students take a few minutes to complete the Technovation Challenge post-survey.

Aurora just emailed me that she's unable to post comments on P2PU for some reason, and wanted me to post this comment on her behalf:

    --

"The judge judging our app wasn't able to download the app so has solely relied on screen shots. The girls spent a TON of time making the app fully functional, rather than just hard coding and doing screen shots. The app actually works, we had multiple people test it on their phones.

Since she's not able to download, can she please login to app inventor to view the app? The login is username: lyceefrancaisSF1 and the PW: technovation1. The project is SWAPITy.

It would be a real shame if we are given a poor score because the judge wasn't even able to see the app."

    Hello!

I would like to again thank the Technovation helpers for all their work, but I was wondering if anything was done to offset the subjectivity of grading. For example, do they drop the lowest and highest score? Because sometimes some judges are more or less harsh than others.

    Thanks!

Dear technovation team, its seems that you are working hard , your work is highly appreciated. actually my team get 3 results from 3 judge’s 2 of the judge’s score us in a convergent results (sarah and chinma) my team appreciate your great work and we will go through your notes. The third one was (ina) she scores limitless in a low points on the ( market size , video pitch ) actually the team work very hard on the video pitch and they came in a very professional and clear one , regarding the market size its very clear on the business plan and there is many percentages show our market. I have another note to ina she score us 3 out 4 on the computer programing I think limitless needs to get 4 , the girls are really cleaver and understand all the app process and this is very clear on the application results , they used java code with mySQL DB I think they deserve to get more points in such a great app. I wonder if it’s the final results and when we can get our final results? Message From my team I need to pass it : please be fair because they really deserve to win.

Our priority right now is to get the international teams determined so that they can get their flights, but we are also making progress on the other regions (yours is Boston/LA). We intend to notify people tomorrow (Apr 18, Thu) via email and then post the list of finalists here and on our social media later in the day.

Just for everyone's info -- San Francisco Bay Area may be the last region to be completed since we are short judges and our priority right now is to notify teams that have to make travel arrangements.

I understand that this is a thorny area, but I just looked at the feedback one of my teams received from a judge and was really upset. The judge left a comment that s/he couldn't hear the pitch video clearly and scored the pitch a 1 for being unclear. But the video plays fine for me and multiple people and the other judge did not note this as a problem. This seems really unfair. This  judge's feedback also seems to indicate that English is not this person's first language - the feedback was barely two sentences and had several mispellings. The other judge marked other aspects of our team low but left helpful feedback that explained why this was so and DID NOT say they had problems hearing or understanding the pitch! I just would like to ensure my team and the other teams in my region are judged fairly.

Did you get a response about this? It almost seems like a fake submission.... On Tue, Apr 16, 2013 at 12:07 PM, sworemland <

    Hi Sara and Kelly

Thanks for your comments. We are looking into the judging and will make a decision as a team, which we will share here.

Kelly, what do you mean by fake submission? You mean that the judge did not fill out the rubric entirely or properly? Email me directly if you prefer.

    Thanks,

    Angélica

    Hello!

I also have found that Total Score in the begining of our 'Technovation Challenge 2013 Judging Rubric' document is less than Total in grid. Such a strange mistake.. Actually I can't understand what is our real score.

And yep, we supposed that feedback would be more than 2 sentences.

    Thank you in advance,

    Polina

Hello, I hope the great experience of our girls having a chance to do something worthwhile is not wearing off, because I sense some irritation. If the comments help a little, they should be accepted in good faith. Given the volume of emails I have received in the past few weeks, we should be appreciative of the work of the team that is working behind the scenes, our work, our students' work and our community in general. This activity has given me a chance to explore areas I have never delved into so I am totally grateful. I hope my teams do well. If not, I have learned enough this year to lead better next year. Thank you, Chinma and others for your comments.

It is an absolute pleasure to work with all of you and your teams of girls. As you know, this is our first global season and first time using an online platform. We have girls as young as 4th grade who have jumped right in and created original apps. Thank you for joining us on this incredible journey.

Your feedback helps us improve our program.

From our behind the scenes perspective, one of our challenges right now is getting the judging completed. We are inviting more judges so that we can finish. None of the regions are finished judging yet.

Originally we were hoping to communicate results by Apr 24. Given the short time frame for World Pitch, however, we have the intention to notify all teams by tomorrow, Apr 18.

If you have someone in mind who can judge teams by 5pm PST today, please have them sign up here right away and/or email me directly - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/judgeTC.

We will do our best as a team to address discrepancies in judging and scoring. Just to be fair to our dedicated judges, they are volunteering time from their busy schedules to get judging completed within a tight time frame. They do not have the history with your teams that you do and they are only able to see materials that were submitted. The scores are one form of feedback -- we have also encouraged judges to add a few comments as feedback for the teams.

Thanks for your help and we are excited for tomorrow's news. We don't know a time yet since we are working to get all the teams assigned judges first, but as soon as we do, we'll post here.

    Thanks,

    Angélica

Angelica, What's your email address? How many apps do you need a judge to score? Akilah

Just direct messaged you. Our original ask was 10 submissions per judge, but any dent we can make in that, even just 3-5 teams, will be helpful, particularly since we hope to finish by 5pm PST today.

    Thanks again,

    Angélica

You should be all set with instructions and folders on DropBox. Any you can judge will be amazingly helpful.

    Thanks again,

Hi Angelica, I tried uploading the word doc to a team folder and it is not showing up. I think for now, I'll just continue down through my list and get the work done and figure out my issues later. Hope that's ok. Ruth On 4/17/13 10:30 AM, "AngelicaTechnovation" <

    Hello!

Our app was using Fusion Tables, and we have to share people to the table for our app to work, so we changed our supplementary information yesterday, WITHOUT changing anything else.

We were wondering if this would go against us at all during the grading.

    Thanks!

P.S. we also sent out an email, just to be safe.
