You're almost done, but until you can consider this challenge finished you have to leave comments on some of your peers blogs. Have a look on the challenge discussion page and look for posts that people have left introducing themselves.

Spend your last few minutes of time reading over people's introductory blog posts and leave a comment for them. You may even want to link to your blog in the comment - if you feel mighty.

This is just one of many comments that I have made. I've quite gotten into reading people's bogs and providing a tad of light commentary or a shout out. There is some good stuff out there and this is just the beginning.

I've also been impressed by the great posts on everyone's blogs. And I just commented on your blog dundoft ;-)

In terms of the way we structured this challenge - I wonder if we should have integrated some of the individual tasks. For example, there are a lot of posts in task 2, and very few here in task 4 - even though once you click through to the blogs you see that a lot of comments have been left. They just dont' get recorded here.

    Thoughts?

I was wondering about the same thing, Philipp.

If someone comments on someone else's blog, and the comment is beneficial and/or would help other people learn, how would other participants see/benefit from it? They would need to check everyone's particular blogs.

I'm wondering if instead of posting a link to our blog post, we repost the material/submission directly into the comment.

    That way:

    1. The partcipant can still keep an archive of their personal growth
    2. The discussion would live in one place. Other participants can easily view submissions AND comments without having to leave the task

The downside to that is that the blogs themselves wouldn't receive comments, and depending on the submission itself, it might be hard to "repost" it. Just an idea.

You hit on the major problem with blogs for discussion. We tried to do something about it some time ago, but it never got beyond a hacked-together solution that I called "The Wire" at the time.

Here is the original blog post. It would be awesome if someone picked this up again and built a plug-in for our site. Maybe we can turn it into a more advanced challenge ;-)

    http://sharing-nicely.net/2009/05/the-wire-pre-alpha-aggregate-blog-posts-and-comments/

For now, I think even mentioning here that a comment was left on the blog would be useful.

Thanks for the great post. I clicked through to the Woolman School homepage. It looks like a wonderful place. How long will you be based there? What does it mean to be an apprentice?
