Instructors Pete Forsyth and Sara Frank Bristow are teaching this course as part of Communicate OER, a project to improve Wikipedia articles about openness in education. Communicate OER is funded by a grant from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
Pete Forsyth is a Wikipedia expert with an extensive background writing and editing for the site. He was a key architect of Wikipedia's Global Education Program, which supports instructors in assigning Wikipedia writing in traditional classes. He has taught people around the world to write for Wikipedia, and to think critically about how it relates to other organizations, media, and social movements.
Sara Frank Bristow is an educational researcher focusing on learning technology, blended/virtual K-12, online higher education, and open educational resources - with an emphasis on wikis as research, education, and dissemination tools. Her recent work has included MOOCs and related open online resources.
