As a student, I’ve found myself at odds with methods employed to instill textbooks into my memory, only to be regurgitated onto a paper that would decide my academic fate.
I am lucky. Or so I have been lead to believe. Lucky that a university would take me, despite my difficulties adapting to their style of formal education.
In a leap of faith, I am opting to spend a year away, to learn more than I ever could on my formal Computer Science course; with the aim of searching for alternatives. I will still be studying & learning, by making the most of resources available to everyone, with an eye to innovate on top of them, so they might be harnessed by anyone.
I would love to see a change in the wider attitude to education, for learning to be seen as creative, natural & interdisciplinary. Where curiosity & experimentation are encouraged and supported.
