Anyone can follow a guide on P2PU. Participating is the next level of engagement. The sign-up is a space where interested individuals can express their interest and background in the topic and commit to working with the rest of the participants. Please answer the following set(s) of questions if you want to become a participant or organizer.

  What made you interested in this topic?

  I have been wanting to follow a start to finish web project for a while and this seems like it would be perfect!

   

  What do you hope to achieve by participating?

  In general, I'm hoping to expend my knowledge of web development and everything that goes into creating a large web application. Specifically, I'm hoping to get more experience with AJAX and PHP.

  I worked for a year in online advertising support and the calls which I liked the most were the ones which were with the actual web developers as opposed to the marketing managers. In my free time I would lurk Hacker news and marvel at the interesting web apps people had developed and attempted to start creating my own website. As I started learning more about what I would need to know to create and mantain my own web site or app I was a bit overwhelmed but now I am in a BSc program and I hope that this course will supplement that learning. Although I'm not interested in helping with the guide organization I hope to gain a better understanding on how to apply the things I'm learning in school to something as practical as a web site.
