Anyone can follow a study group on P2PU. Participating is the next level of engagement. The sign-up is a space where interested individuals can express their interest and background in the topic and commit to working with the rest of the participants.   I enrolled in the class and have been a member of P2PU for over a year. When I found this class it was the perfect match.

  I signed up for this because i have a growing interest in Cog Sci (and Comp Sci, Linguistics, Logic, Math, Philosophy, etc.) and signed up for the course. I am also currently reading Godel, Escher, Bach and it is amazing.

  I work for the Open Courseware Consortium as the Community College Outreach Manager  promoting open educational practices to empower faculty and students to improve teaching and learning at community colleges.    I also teach Computer Technology courses as an adjunct having been a software engineer and manager in my earlier career.  I hang out in Silicon Valley where I get exposed to lots of the latest high tech chatter but I am trying to stay focused on the longer lasting values in life such as fellowship and community.    Some days I am better at it than others :-)!   My interests include traveling to other countries and observing their cultures -- I hope to do more of that as time allows ...

I have tested user interfaces at Apple, Symantec, NetApp, military and robotic vehicle controls and dashboards (Bradley IFV) and many other web and mobile products throughout my career as a test professional and I'm very interested in this topic.  Customer facing UX has been often an after-thought once internal and external users feedback demonstrate critical tradeoffs exist between complex engineering solutions and simpler end user workflow interactions.
  2. I hope to achieve more insight into the planning and design for end-users interactions with computer devices, specially with smaller changing mobile interfaces.
