Jessica Coates is the Global Network Manager of Creative Commons. Her background is as a copyright and communications lawyer in Australia, where she worked for government, for industry, and as the Project Manager of Creative Commons Australia and the Creative Commons Clinic at the Queensland University of Technology. Jessica has taught many courses on copyright and open access at QUT and has been a frequent guest lecturer at institutions from k-12 through to university level around the world. She freqently represents Creative Commons at international conferences. She has a Bachelor of English and a Bachelor of Law from the Australian National University, and a Masters of Law from Melbourne University, and is currently based in San Francisco.
