I am a fifth grade teacher at Wells Central School in Wells, NY. With over 20 years of educational experience, I have remained a classroom teacher by choice. I have taught in the urban Rochester City School District and now work in a small deeply rural district.
I am passionate about the effective use of technology in education and Open Educational Resources. I have largely moved from textbook instruction to self-created multimedia. I continuously use reseach and data to improve student learning outcomes.
My education includes a BA in History with an East Asian concentration from the University of Rochester and an MSE in Elementary Education from Nazareth College.
Outside teaching and education, I run a small bakery. I also enjoy history and genealogy—combining the two to write rich family history narratives.
