    Hello Everyone and Welcome,

Please begin with your introduction here and move on to the first week's assignments.  Let me know if you have any additional questions.

As part of your intro please list a few goals for yourself, so you can measure your success at the end of the study group.

    Hello.  My name is Tasha.

I teach professional English skills to non-native English-speaking professionals in a 6-month professional development program at a university in the Washington, DC, area.  Part of what I teach, in addition to meeting and presentation skills, is cross-cultural communication and American workplace culture.

I have thought for a while that it might be useful to better understand organizational psychology, partly to understand the microcosm of my classroom and partly to help my students prepare for the workplaces they will be working in after the program.  I am looking forward to getting my feet wet and building a framework of understanding that will help me decide if I want to pursue I/O Psych through a graduate degree.

    Welcome Tasha!

I love the idea of using the classroom as a type of "organization".  Very interesting!  Please let me know if you have any questions about the assignments!  Dr D

    Hi Dana,

My name is Daryl and along with being a dad (my true calling in life) of two wonderful kids and the a husband of 21 years, I am the Director of a Class A Senior Center here in Michigan.  I have my Master's in Counseling and have led a number of non-profit agencies for many years now.  I am always looking for ways to keep myself current and continue my education.

I am hoping this course will refresh, reinforce and build on my knowledge of the subject matter.  I am into leadership and combining solid psychology into my leadership principles and practices.   I am looking forward to an interesting refresher as we walk through these next 6 weeks.

    Thanks,

    Daryl Vanella
