I am community activist and organizer working on environmental justice issues. I joined this group largely out of my interest in learning Spanish, which potential opens a bridge for the purpose of professionally serving Latino communities around such issues. I also want to open the 'puerto' to world of Hispanic culture that surrounds me, learning about it and making new friends and acquaintances. I'm new to learning Spanish and want to discover ways to improve my learning and help others on a similar path. I also have a background as an educator, so I bring that POV to this quest.
